This picturesque trail is full of stories and an exceptional natural and historical heritage, all beginning in Kanfanar. Kanfanar began to develop rapidly from the small settlement of shepherds and farmers in the 17th century when the inhabitants of the nearby Dvigrad, a small medieval town, began settling in this direction, and towards which this trail continues to lead us.Once the most powerful fortified Istrian town, where at the end of the 16th century, 700 people used to live, was destroyed by wars, plague and malaria, where in 1650, according to chroniclers, only the three poorest families remained alive.From the vanished town full of legends, the trail continues along the source of Kašteljer and next to the one-naved Church of St. Agatha, located alongside the road leading to Viduline.The beauty of Limska draga will bring a glow back into your eyes and take you back safely to Kanfanar.
